Bustards Without Borders

Development and adoption of the Action Plan

The Multi-species Action Plan for Bustards (Bustards MsAP) was adopted at COP15 of the Convention on Migratory Species in March 2026.

The MsAP was developed through a process of data collection and consultation with experts and governments from bustard range states by BWB’s Regional Coordinators. The MsAP collates these data to provide a comprehensive assessment of the status of all 26 bustard species across 102 range states. Threats to bustards are prioritized, and scientifically supported conservation actions proposed. The MsAP can be downloaded in three languages. It consists of a cover document, the main MsAP document, and an Annex providing information tailored to each range state.
