Our first step will be to develop a comprehensive Multi-species Action Plan for Bustards (Bustard MsAP, Annex 2) to guide the activities of the consortium in years to come. Regional Coordinators will gather data about the status of all bustard species within their geographical remit, to include their distribution and population sizes, critical habitats and threats. Using this information, we will pinpoint knowledge gaps and identify opportunities for conservation actions. The collaborative data-gathering process will also contribute to the identification of key future BWB members. The draft of the Bustard MsAP will be shared with stakeholders and Range States for review, before presentation for adoption at CMS COP15.
